There are three options when it comes to kitchen sinks:

  • Drop-in sink - this sink sits directly on top of the counter and is usually made of stainless steel or porcelain.
  • Undermount sink - this sink attaches to the countertop from underneath and is usually make of stainless steel, porcelain or a solid material such as Corian.
  • Farm sink - this sink is sometimes called an apron front sink. The sink sits on a support structure below the cabinets. The face of the sink is exposed and the top of the sink is generally level with the top of the cabinet. This sink must be in place before template day. Usually a farm sink is porcelain, natural stone or in a solid material like Corian.

Undermount Sinks

Undermount sinks are a favorite for their sleek look and low maintenance. Mold and grease associated around the caulking of drop-in sinks is eliminated, making clean up a breeze. These sinks are attached underneath the granite using silicone and fasteners. They resist rust, stains, chips, cracks and bacteria. With minimal care, your sink will look great. Use a mat to protect it from scratches.

Wolf Granite offers single and double bowl undermount sinks made of 18 gauge, 18/10 chromium/nickel brushed stainless steel - a high quality 304 stainless steel.

You will find a variety of one and two bowl sinks to fit your kitchen needs. When selecting a sink, make sure it will fit into your base cabinet with room for faucet holes behind it. The depth of a sink should be considered when using an undermount sink since it will be attached beneath the countertop adding another 1-1/4" to the depth.

You may want a single bowl sink for washing pots and pans. The largest is typically 30" wide by 18" front to back.
