Scandinavian Style Granite

Scandinavian style stems from the Scandinavian environment, the harshness of which inspires not only clothes styles and machinery specification but interior design as well. The cold winters encourage the use of a lot of locally available wood, which not only gives the look of warmth but also keeps heat effectively. Light colors are also important, to give the indoors as much light as possible, especially on dark winter days. The granite below is light granite that will help establish a light interior. The different grain sizes of the featured granite will make the space cozy and homier looking than a more fine grained granite.

SCANDINAVIAN STYLE

Scandinavian Style is characterized by open plans, natural materials, clean lines, light, gentle colors, beautifully crafted blond hardwood floors, functional furniture. Colors should be primarily white with a few bold accents. Natural stone such as granite will fit naturally into this style but one should choose subtle colors and softer, calmer textural patterns. In the example shown below on the left the dominating color is white with very light sky blue and bright blue accents.

Blue Eyes granite from Canada (shown in the palette on the left) fits beautifully into this gentle and calm color scheme. Other possibilities for this style may include Crystal Gold, Copper Rose, Labrador Blue.
