| Old World Style GraniteOld World designs tend to stick to natural, earth toned colors with innate variations and eclectic patterns and designs. Although Old World refers to a general European antiquity that is not attached to a specific time period, this style nonetheless carries the implication of luxury, dark, busy designs and the use of natural materials. The featured granite is fitting in both color and grain, reminiscent of Renaissance banisters and wall decorations. The darker granite, too, has an almost gothic sobriety to it. Although the granite below can be used in a variety of different designs, it is particularly fitting for a space designed in the Old World style. |

OLD WORLD STYLE
The key features of old world style include a deep, rich
color palette, materials with timeless appeal like natural stone and hardwood,
elaborate wood trims, substantial furniture pieces, floral patterns. This
style creates the feeling of comfort and sense of history. To add authenticity
to the Old World look add some real antiques and artifacts. Avoid man
made materials like laminate and plastic. Choose simple style cabinetry
with curved molding and corners and oversized hardware and hide the modern
appliances like microwaves behind the cabinet doors. Choose the refrigerator
with a panel that blends in with the cabinets.

the color palette based on the contrast between ivory and deep hues of burgundy
and forest green. Other granites that would complement an Old Style kitchen
include Juparana Fantstico (Brazil), Violetta (Saudi Arabia),
and Dakota Mahagony (USA). |
