ART DECO STYLE
The influential 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes held in Paris marked the beginning of Art Deco period. This decorative style was inspired by nonwestern art, particularly by that of Africa and Egypt. The prominent and most recognizable features of Art Deco style include abstract geometric patterns, flowing lines inspired by the emerging science of aerodynamics, the use of metal and decorative glass. The favorite Art Deco colors are gray, metallic, blue, and cool pastel colors. The revival of of Art Deco began in the 1960s and since then the interest in this style has been steadily growing.
